The writer Gilles Perrault, the singer Renaud and theRevolutionary Communist League (LCR) organized a demonstration and concert, Saturday July 8,place de la Bastille, in Paris, "contre la dette, l'apartheid et lescolonies". Under the label "ça suffat comme ci", their call,which the PCF had joined in particular, was finally heard by several tens ofthousands of people: fifteen thousand at the demonstration, more than onehundred thousand at the concert. Targeting the summit of the sevenindustrialized countries which took place in Paris, from July 14 (1989), thismobilization was followed, on Sunday July 9, by a symposium in the Mutualitéroom.
