'(Re)counting the Uncounted': Catalogue and Typology of Premodern Censuses in the Low Countries
This dataset contains the catalogue of digitised censuses, created in the NWO-funded Replication Study '(Re)counting the Uncounted. Replication and Contextualisation of Dutch and Belgian Premodern Population Estimates (1350-1800)'.
Associated with this catalogue, which will be presented as a separate file in a future update of the dataset, is a typology of premodern censuses. Each census identified in the project was systematically contextualised using a fixed questionnaire. This facilitates comparability of diverging censuses through time and space. The typology is currently under construction and will be the topic of an independent study.
