The IISG Knowledge Graph combines information on various resources at the IISG, such as books, photos, persons, archives, datasets and many more. To access this information you can write a sparql query to get specifics. A much more fun way to find information is to simply browse the graph! So we wrote some queries that let you do just that.
To get started, add a search term in the first box below and type of item you are looking for. As an example, the query below looks for "Mandela" in items that are books. The results return three columns. The first is the name or description in which the search term appears. The second is a link to a viewer of the item, e.g. the IISG catalog, website or Dataverse. The third is link to the item in the IISG Knowledge Graph. This link allows you to browse the graph directly.
Browsing for items (of a specific type)
Another way to browse items, is to search for them by their 'creator'. Creator is a broad term, to catch a multitude of roles that bring forth something one way or another. For example, creators be authors, publishers, researchers and archives. As an example, below we list items brought forth by 'organisation's who carry the string "zuidelijk africa" in their names. If you want to look for a person, (1) add a search term, (2) change the type to 'person'.
Items by creator
As a third example, we will combine both queries and will search for images provided by creators that have 'zuidelijk afrika' in their name. If you click on the image title you will be taken to the IISG Knowledge Graph, for that particular image.
