Introduction

Like a diamond, the dataset behind the diamond workers website contains many facets. The aim of this data story is to:

1. show how to query each of those facets;
2. how those not familiar to SPARQL can retrieve information through the query's API's.

Occupations

The diamond workers records provides amongst others information on their occupational activity. The figure below shows that nearly half of workers are grinders.

We can delve deeper into the activities, by querying who is involved in a particular activity. Below you can filter on a given occupation and lastname. By clicking on the personID, you will be redirected to that person's record.
