In 1949 the sculpture was placed on Leeuwendalerspad in Bos en Lommer. The man with the house symbolized the Dageraad (dawn) housing corporation. The child and the old woman point to the shared gardens of the complex and to the low-rise homes for old people, built so they could live close to their children.
