Ferdinand Domela Nieuwenhuis (1846-1919)
Sieger studied under Professor Jan Bronner at the State Academy in Amsterdam from 1921 to 1928. During these years he joined the Communist Party of Holland and the Socialist Artists Circle (SKK) with Peter Alma, Johan van Hell, Hildo Krop and Charley Toorop. This teakwood head of Domela Nieuwenhuis was made at that time. It is a homage to this charismatic leader of the Dutch Anarchists, who had a big following in Amsterdam.
