De familie Bakhuizen en de Hooghe op de Mosselsteiger aan het IJ

In this painting the outline of the city of Amsterdam is shown in the background. From left to right we see the tower of the Old Church, the town hall, the New Chuch and the circular Lutheran church. This view was from the opposite bank of the IJ, by the toll house. Tradition has it that this painting is a self-portrait of Bakhuizen and members of his family. He is depicted standing. In the centre is Anna de Hooghe, wife of this painter who is perhaps best known for his seascape paintings.
