Aat Veldhoen depicts himself here as an androgynous figure with a white powdered face beneath a peacock-blue headdress, wearing a colourful robe with a phallus on the shoulder. He dreamily contemplates a red rose, appearing to be on a higher plane. On the back he prosaically lists the materials he used: chipboard, Bison glue, canvas, oil paint, retouch varnish, finishing varnish, gold leaf.
