Lambert Reynst (1613-1679), a lawyer, was also a director of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). He served as burgomaster of Amsterdam in 1667, 1668 and 1672. In his final term, a year of political turmoil, he was removed from his post by Stadholder Willem III.
