Kist van de schutterij, afkomstig uit de Voetboogdoelen
This chest stood at the St George’s or longbowmen’s headquarters. Unfortunately, we no longer know what it originally contained. The insignia on the front are the arms of leading Amsterdam burghers. The largest is that of Jacob Backer (1572-1643), who served four terms as burgomaster. It may have been Backer who commissioned the chest.
