Floor Wesseling combines shirts of different clubs, like those of arch-rivals Ajax and Feyenoord or Glasgow’s Celtic and Rangers. The designer grew up in Bijlmer, a suburb of Amsterdam which is home to families of many different origins. Blood In Blood Out, a film about multiracial gangs in Los Angeles, was a favourite. Floor used the name for his own project. With his football shirts he introduces age-old heraldic symbols into the streetculture of today. Wesseling sees the use of flags, family weapons and brand logo’s as a form of identity.
