The young lady with the child on her lap, behind the table, is Catharina Dronrijp. Her husband, Lambert Overbeek, stands beside her, in a pink suit. The other persons depicted are two unmarried sons and an unmarried daughter of the family. To liven up the representation Overbeek has depicted the portraits of several family members on paintings in the painting. On the easel stands the portrait of his own wife, Agatha Johanna Backer, with their small son Lucas Frederik. The room’s striking Louis XVI panelling is probably imagined.
