Anna Jacobsdr. Blaeu (1556-1627)

Anna Jacobsdr. Blaeu (1574-1627) was the wife of the burgomaster of Amsterdam Cornelis Pietersz. Hooft and the mother of the famous writer Pieter Cornelisz. Hooft. She was cousin of the famous cartographer, printer and publisher Willem Jansz. Blaeu. Cornelis van der Voort came from Antwerp, and settled in Amsterdam in 1952. He was a very skilled portrait painter. He gained many commissions, often for group portraits, and made many paintings of groups of the Civic Guard and notables of social institutions.
