'DE NON', gevelsteen

A standing nun in habit with rosary around her waist and a book in her raised left hand. On the lower rim: DE NON (The nun). The small stone comes from Laagte Kadijk no. 36. There, in 1723 a house was built for Rebecca Non by master brick layer Harmen Huijrman and master carpenter Jan Richolt. The scene clearly represents the name of the woman who commissioned the house. In 1875 the stone was still there. At what time the K.O.G. has bought the stone is not known. Size: 45 x 28cm.
